My admiration for Buffalo’s poetry community and women artists is no secret, given the theme of most my articles. So when I heard about the talented poet Skyler Rutkowski’s most recent endeavor, I was ecstatic.
Aristotle identified the original four genres of literature as comedy, tragedy, epic poetry, and lyric poetry. He knew comedy and poetry were closely related, but even he couldn’t have been prepared for what local talents Ben Brindise and Bruce Wilson have cooked up.
[INDIE] That familiar feeling is coming back—a good ol’ case of holidaze is preparing itself as we quickly approach Thanksgiving and Christmas.
[FOOD] The meaning of the word “melting pot” gets lost in translation. Some think a melting pot means assimilation, others think it is meant to celebrate the diversity of the country we live in.
