Listen: Buffalo's Next Coffee Wave
Buffalo is finally getting geeky with coffee again. While we’ve had our share of caramel macchiatos and double-doubles, the clock has been ticking for the next stage of coffee’s evolution to take hold as it has across most cities.
Public Espresso is a familiar name for pour-over coffee and small-batch roasting, but their upcoming storefront on Grant and satellite cafe inside the lobby of the Hotel Lafayette will mean the addition of intricately handcrafted espresso beverages. It seems sensible since we’ve had such a boom in craft cocktails, breweries, and distilleries that “third wave brewing methods” would take hold. Especially, you know, during chilly winters when boozy drinks shouldn’t be the only expertly made option to keep you warm.

This week Donnie is talking to Sam Scarcello and James Rayburg from public espresso + coffee. They discuss about the start of their love of all things coffee, how public went from a hobby to a business and their upcoming plans for the residency at the Hotel Lafayette and their Grant Street cafe/roastery.
