[BURLESQUE] The Buffalo Burlesque Studio aims “to release your inner bombshell,” according to Mistress J Kiss, a.k.a. Jamie Doktor of the Stripteasers, Buffalo’s longest tenured (since 2004!) and much honored burlesque troupe. Doktor has been teaching the art of burlesque—not just the dance but the aesthetic, the philosophy, the release—for a decade, but this endeavor, headquartered on North Street, is new. You can learn more at buffaloburlesquestudio.com. Better yet, you can stop by the Revolution Gallery on Saturday, August 12 for Tease Please! A Night of Feathers and Fundraising. The studio needs some seed money, so the Hertel Avenue gallery is hosting a performance by the Stripteasers, a silent auction, and more to raise a few dollars and give the studio a leg up.
