Alexander O. Levy (1881-1947), Portrait of Mrs. Donald Wier - nee Farrell, 1920.

A Conversation

[ART] To those that do not have an arts background, sometimes talking about what you see can be paralyzing and uncomfortable. Sometimes one can be unsure of what they are actually looking at and fumble through their mental catalog of vocabulary, desperately searching for the right word, so that they don’t sound ignorant or unpolished. Join Nancy Spector, a current docent and graduate student of arts education at Buffalo State, as she erases the barrier between you and the artwork, and sets the stage for an open dialogue around how gender, race and ethnicity are portrayed in the work by Alexander O. Levy, Sunday, March 29 at the Burchfield Penney Art Center.
