GreenWatch-Erie County Microbeads Public Hearing Today
The Erie County Executive, Mark Poloncarz, will hold a public hearing today (Tuesday 11 August) at 2pm about Local Law Intro. No.8-2 (2015), a local law prohibiting the sale of personal cosmetic products containing microbeads in Erie County.
The Public Hearing is scheduled to take place in Room 1404 of the Rath County Office building at 95 Franklin Street. We wrote about this important and precedent setting law, the first in the nation to comprehensively ban dangeous microbeads that enter our sewer treatment plants and pass through into the water supply last week.
