BPO Tribute to Stevie Wonder
[TRIBUTE] With classics like “Master Blaster,” “Sir Duke,” and “Isn’t She Lovely,” the music of Stevie Wonder clearly perpetuates a summertime vibe, so it seems like a perfectly natural choice for the BPO’s Canalside appearance this year. Featuring some assistance from Buffalo’s own Critt’s Juke Joint (Eric Crittenden on sax, keys, and vocals; Zuri Appleby on bass; Deshawn Jackson on the skins; and Michael DiSanto on guitar), who’ll be joined by Preach Freedom, Marla Harris, Tony Rhodes, Vinnie DeRosa, and Drea D’Nur, a funky and energetic summer evening of goodtime grooves is ensured this Thursday, July 18. The parade of Canalside Carnival Battle of the Bands winners from May continues with Classic Soul champs he Michael King Project. Gates open at 6pm, general admission is free, VIP tickets are available for $40.
