[EXPERIMENTAL] Locally based duo Cages (Nola Ranallo and David Bailey) have been creating an edgy, unnerving sonic blend of electro-organic elements for over a decade now. Ranallo’s waify wail is at turns pretty and menacing as it weaves through Bailey’s guitar parts and washes of ambient electronica. For this gig, they’re paired with the artful Wooden Cities collective to perform a live soundtrack to film pioneer Hollis Frampton’s silent film Zorns Lemma (1970) as part of the Squeaky Wheel’s Silent/Sound series this Friday, July 10 on the front yard at the Burchfield Penny.
