East Aurora Carolcade

[CAROLING] It’s absurdly pictureseque, the annual East Aurora Carolcade: Thousands gather in the village’s Main Street in front of Vidler’s, at the epicenter of the shopping ditrict, and are led in song by prominent citizens (some of whom can actually sing), accompanied by the Salvation Army band. This is the Carolcade’s 46th year; it is also the village’s 200th birthday, and the 200th birthday of “Silent Night,” which is the traditional closer. It takes place on Saturday, December 15, and lasts just one hour, 7-8pm. (It gets cold.) But there are many places in easy walking distance to shop, eat, and drink, before and after.
