Zach Deputy
[ROCK] The evolution of sound as music will forever have a progressive trajectory. Every once in a while though, someone truly unique comes around, flipping everything you thought was possible and opening your eyes to something new. Zach Deputy not only brings a fresh spin musically, but his approach is what sets him apart. With the universe of technology musicians have at the tips of their fingers these days, the term one-man band is kicked around a lot, but Deputy takes it to a whole new level. He employs a technique called “live looping” where he builds tracks on the spot, mixing guitar, layered vocals, and beatboxing to share his vision. The Southern maestro mixes soul with funk, and calypso with hip hop to create a captivating blend of sounds. The show is hitting Nietzsche’s this Thursday, December 11 and the stage should have just enough room for his massive rig. Fredonia’s The Goods—who have a similar mix of style and should be a good match for Deputy’s sound— open the show. The trio will feature a fourth member on guitar for the night, so make sure to show up early and catch it all.
