[EMO] By this Saturday, all of your Thanksgiving dinner regrets will be but memories, but you can still get sad with Honey Coma and company. The self-proclaimed “sad rock trio”—featuring members of Humble Braggers and Mutual Friends, are on a solid line up of local and out of town bands Saturday, November 25 at Mohawk Place. Their latest release is last year’s emo-y 7 Songs, which is as depressing as it is danceable—a great combo if you’re in a self-loathing food coma and you need to dance off some of those calories. They’ll be joined by Chicago-based solo project Options, A.K.A. Seth Engle, who released an unpredictable, mathy alt-rock album last year titled Maxed Out. Fellow Illinois-based band Single Player will also jump on the line up. Their Record, At the Buzzer, released in February of last year is 10 tracks of stripped back emo, record by tourmate, Engle. Dreamy dream-pop band Dreambeaches rounds out this solid lineup, which you won’t want to miss.
