MLJ and Friends

[ROCK] A Buffalo favorite, Michael Lee Jackson has his roots firmly planted here. Starting his career in the 1980s as the lead singer for Animal Planet, he recorded several albums before going on extensive tours around the world. Though a writer and creator of music on a national level, including executively producing a project for Deep Purple’s Ian Gillian in 2006, Jackson finds himself more and more a part of the Buffalo music scene. His recent project, Death by Sunshine,  released two months ago, echos the sounds of modern funk, yet stays true to the essence of rock and roll. Reuniting Buffalo’s best musicians, Jackson wants to relive the greatness, bringing back favorites from Animal Planet and more. His band includes Geno McManus on guitar, Jeff Schaller on drums, Brian Burd on bass, Nikki C. Hicks on vocals, Jim Bohm on trumpet, and Jim Runfola on saxophone. He’ll also have some surprise guests throughout the night, this Wednesday, November 23 at the Sportsmen’s Tavern.
