[EXPERIMENTAL] The exquisite sonic textures arranged by Aaron Dilloway (former member of Wolf Eyes) vary from sparse to impenetrable, fluid to frenzied, yet always dense and unrelenting. Listening to them is like gradually being pulled into deep sea territory, the depths of hell, or the far reaches of space. Dilloway is a drone sorcerer, no doubt, and he conjures a firework display of streaking frequencies, chiseled static, rumbling drones, and ambiguous field recordings that ultimately stretch your audio threshold to its outer most limits. This weekend brings an opportunity to immerse yourself in Dilloway’s raw sonic experimentation live as he’ll be performing at Squeaky Wheel this Wednesday (May 27). Set to open is Andrew Kirschner of Mistake by the Lake Tape. This is definitely an event that proponents of sonic experimentation will not want to miss.
