First Friday

[ART] The cruelest month is in the rearview, and more art worth experiencing is poking its way through the ground. As always, whether you start or end your travels at the Albright-Knox, you’ll do well for yourself to spend time in the Shantell Martin exhibit and gallery talks scheduled at 6 and 7pm. Among openings of note, the Resource:Art affair at the Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology (1221 Main Street) looks like a gem. Resource:Art will be showing some work of Milton Rogovin and unveiling a project of Rogovin-inspired public wheat-paste installations by Max Collins. Mark Rogovin will also be on hand to talk about his father’s work. Elsewhere on the First Friday beat, brand new shows will appear at El Museo (Phyllis Thompson), ¡Buen Vivir! (Orin Langelle), Pausa (Rita Argen Auerbach) with group shows at Starlight and Buffalo Big Print. Not to outshadow existing shows, while out make sure to check out the Walp & Krull show at the Indigo Gallery reviewed in this issue.
