[FUN] Electronica and performance art collide in the quirky world of Shawn E. Lewis’s Lesionread, turning convention on its head. Lewis takes the Girl Talk approach, facing the crowd with a table of doodads in front of her, boogieing to her own groove—but the comparison ends there. What ensues is an all-original mix of speak-sing social commentary with dashes of absurd humor set to a glitchy cauldron of Ableton-generated beats, blasts, and squeals that forges just enough melody to really be music. It’s all rather miraculous, as you’ll see on Friday, March 20, at Dreamland.
