St. Patrick's Day (March 17- March 20)

[PARTY] St. Patrick’s Day is this Thursday, March 17 but, as is always the case in Buffalo, celebrations will run all weekend. Here is our list of some of our favorite St. Paddy’s day parties of the year.


 THURSDAY, MARCH 17 

Keltics and Karaoke at Gypsy St. Patrick’s
5PM, 376 Grant St., Buffalo

The Gypsy Parlor on Grant St. will be holding a Gypsy themed St. Patrick’s Day party as they mix Celtic and Irish Gypsy music with a little bit of karaoke as DJ KO provides live music.


St. Paddy’s Day Throwback Thursday w/ Charles Masters
7PM, 253 Allen St., Buffalo
Duke’s Bohemian Grove Bar hosts a St. Patrick’s Day celebration on the day itself with DJ Charles Masters. DBGB will also have complimentary corn beef and cabbage, and $1.00 off Guinness and Tully.


 FRIDAY, MARCH 18 

Live At O’Larkin
5-8PM, Larkin Square, 745 Seneca St, Buffalo
The fourth annual Live at O’Larkin event returns to Larkin Square with the usual roundup of food trucks, Celtic music, and local vendors. McCarthyizm and Poor Ould Goat will both be playing, in addition to salutes from Greater Buffalo Firefighters Pipe and Drums and youngsters in unison of Clann Na Cara School.


 SATURDAY, MARCH 19 

Valley Community Association’s 23rd Annual “Old Neighborhood” St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Noon-5PM, 93 Leddy St., Buffalo

Commonly referred to as “the Old First Ward Parade,” this one has a reputation for being a little more family friendly than the raucous Sunday parade. Viewing of the parade will be available along: South Park Ave. (between Hamburg and Smith St.), Smith St. (between South Park Ave. and Elk St.), Elk St. (between Smith St. and South Park Ave.), Hamburg St. (between South Park Ave. and O’Connell Ave.), O’Connell Ave. (between Hamburg St. and Louisiana St.)


 SUNDAY, MARCH 20

United Irish American Association 76th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
2PM, Delaware Ave., Buffalo

This is it. This is the big one. Regarded as one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the country, Buffalo’s annual parade starts at the McKinley Monument and heads down Delaware Ave. to North St.


St. Patrick’s Parade Day 90’s Party
Noon, 334 Delaware Ave., Buffalo

Soulpatch and DJ Dovey pay tribute to the great decade of music that was the 90’s at the Waiting Room this Sunday. This 21 and over event is presented by 103.3 the Edge and tickets cost $5 advanced/$10 day of.


St. Patty’s Parade Day Party
Noon-4AM, 253 Allen St., Buffalo

Duke’s Bohemian Grove Bar hosts a sixteen hour parade day party with hours and hours of live music, complimentary corned beef and cabbage, and car bombs, Irish whiskey, and Guinness specials.
