[SCREENING] The good folks at Burning Books are offering a post-Oscars opportunity to catch up on your viewing of nominated films, with a screening of Yance Ford’s documentary Strong Island. The film tells the story of a family that escapes the Jim Crow South for New York City, and then that city’s middle-class suburbs, where one of its members meets a tragic, violent death. It’s a story about the persistence of racism and injustice, and about grief. The screening, presented in collaboration with Cultivate Cinema Circle, is on Wednesday, March 14. It’s free.
