[JAZZ] The matrimonial duo of Vince and Carina Mastrantonio have become a staple of Buffalo’s music venues over the last few years, charming audiences with their jazzy cabaret-noir. It takes a mega-dose of musical personality to stand out from the over-sized herd these days, and these folks have it in spades, along with a remarkable amount of talent and ace musical instincts. All of these fine qualities will surely be display Friday, February 23 at the Pausa Art House, where—for three sets at 8pm, 9pm, and 10pm, respectively—Carina and the Six String Preacher will celebrate the release of their third disc, The Great Hideaway. For this gig the Mastrantonios (on vocals and guitar) will be joined by drummer John Brady and guest trumpeter Jacob Jay. Don’t cheat yourself, this is the best intimate setting for *real* listening in town.
