[INDIE] It’s been a few months, but The Public Presents is back, this time with a few hard-hitting grunge-rock bands. This month’s line up features Ugly Sun, The Slums, and Cooler, bands that are pretty familiar with each other, and which you should be familiar with too if you like to keep current with the latest rising Buffalo talent. Ugly Sun (see our Spotlight here) kick things off with some garage rock tunes from their latest record Cherokee, and probably a bunch of new stuff too. Then post-hardcore band The Slums take over, playing in support of two new singles, “Kerb” and “Shiner” which you can find on their Bandcamp page. Finally, grunge band Cooler, led by frontwoman and guitarist Alley Yates—and the latest signees to the New York-based record label Admirable Traits—bring ultra-fuzzed out riffs to the stage to close out the night. It happens this Thursday, February 16 at Nietzsche’s. And it’s only $5.
