Gary Sczerbaniewicz: High Strangeness
[ART] As part of the TopSpin series, under the curatorial direction of Michael Beam, every year the museum highlights three local/regional emerging artists whose phenomenal work stands out, and offers them their first solo exhibition and publication opportunity with an institution. As part of the 2014-15 awardees, Gary Sczerbaniewicz will be this exhibition’s focus. His vignettes that are meticulously sculpted will be on view through periscopic stands that will be placed throughout the gallery. The scenes reveal his interests in balancing a Freudian lens with his personal experiences of growing up in a Post-Cold War environment. Come experience how a suburban middle class Catholic kid reconciles the distortion of these realities. This exhibition will be on view through May 3.
