[INDIE] Canadian indie-pop quintet Kasador are making the leap over the border to try and catch some Stateside love, headlining at the Tralf Music Hall on Thursday, January 19. Three years in, they just released a self-titled EP last September, which was recorded at the Tragically Hip’s studio, and the most recent single, “Neighbourhood,” shows off their infectious chops. Frontman Will Hunter’s musings seem more spoken than actually sung, but that makes the choruses crack a bit harder, replete with a bass-poppin’ hi-hat groove that’s just disco-y enough to be fun despite the song’s overall dark tone. Hopefully Kasador has more good ideas where this one came from. Openers PA Line, Electric Salmon, and Grace of Faults spice up the bill with plenty of variety to keep you focused.
