EP: Disappearing Act by dreambeaches

The new EP from Buffalo-based indie-pop band dreambeaches is titled Disappearing Act and was released on October 13 by the regional record label Admirable Traits. The album opens with a low key, introspective track featuring acoustic guitar and vocal melodies before launching into the more energetic, uptempo “Trademark.” The album runs through mathy indie rock on “Athena” to moody downtempo dance pop on “Oxymandalawildflower,” and dreamy indie pop on the album’s title track. EP: Blank Slate by Nothing Casual

Recommended if you like: Widespread Panic, Afghan Wigs, Surfer Blood

The latest release from Buffalo-based band Nothing Casual, formerly known as White Shade, is a three song EP titled Blank Slate. The album combines jammy rock guitars with classic rock-inspired solos. “Breakdown” leans more toward airy jam music, while “394 moves in an alternative rock direction with 1990s-influenced guitar riffs. Finally, “What A Shame,” wraps up the album up with a grittier indie rock sound.
