Peach Picks: Literary News and Recommendations
Guest Picks: Ghost City Press
For this week’s installment of “Peach Picks,” we invite the masterminds behind Ghost City Press’s annual Microchapbook Series to highlight some of their favorite collections from this past season. The series is an annual marathon in which one short digital collection of writing is published every summer weekday by Ghost City Press, an independent publishing house based out of Syracuse, beloved throughout the Buffalo literary scene as the press houses the work of several Western New York-based writers. It just finished its second season with the press’s editorial team overseeing the publication of 75 collections by 78 different writers throughout the country and many parts of the Anglo-speaking world. We hear from Kevin Bertolero, Ghost City Press’s founder and publisher-in-chief, and Jo Barchi, the press’s chief editor, about some of this season’s collections that they feel deserve some more exposure or that are important to return to a second time.
