Artists Seen: Brandon Williamson

Brandon Williamson is a poet and performer who was born in Buffalo. After graduating from SUNY Fredonia in 2007 with a BA in theater, he returned to his hometown, where he taught at Oracle Charter School for four years. In 2012 he founded the Pure Ink Poetry Slam, the first monthly event of its kind in the city.Williamson has traveled widely on the slam circuit in the US and Canada. In 2015 he published Critical Lens, a book of his selected poems. He often facilitates writing and performance workshops for organizations throughout Western New York. Artists Seen: Photographs of Artists in the 21st Century is an ongoing project by photographer David Moog in partnership with the Burchfield Penney Art Center at SUNY Buffalo State.
