Designing to Live Sustainably (D2LS)

D2LS will offer a FREE Visioning Session & Mentor Engagement event for anyone thinking of entering the Spring 2015 Competition- whether with a project in mind or just interested in learning more about their idea for one.

When: Saturday, April 11th, 12:30 – 3:00

Where: Design Innovation Center [dig], 640 Ellicott St., Buffalo, NY 14086

This organization is hosting a competition this Spring focused on Our Responsibility to Future Generations—Preparing for the effects of climate change.

The functionally informative fun few hours will be based on a “Speed-Dating” format. Attendees will get some time at seven stations – Public Participation, Policy & Governance; Transportation & Walkability; Agriculture & Food Justice; Sustainability in Business; Design Innovation & Infrastructure; Building Reuse, Retrofits & Preservation, and Climate Change, then choose stations to revisit and further develop their ideas.

It is for architects, planners, designers, high school and university students, developers, business persons, elected officials, farmers, people in block clubs and other organizations. Or none of the above, but interested in furthering the already notable renaissance in the Buffalo-Niagara Region.

D2ls is committed to continuing to be highly inclusive, so both the Visioning Session & Mentor Engagement event and entering the competition are free.

Registration is appreciated, but not required. See website www.d2lsbuffalo.com
