Attention all Buffalo bands: WBNY is holding a battle of the bands and they want you. The battle is scheduled to be held at Buffalo Iron Works on April 25, and submissions will be open until March 8. That means if you want your all orginal, non-cover band to play in this show, you should get your butt in gear and email your three song submission to wbnylocalmusicdirector@gmail.com.

If you send in your submission via email, make sure the subject line reads “Battle Submission.” You may also snail mail your submission in the form of a CD to WBNY 1300 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, New York 14222 with the label “Battle Submission.” One submission per band. All genres are welcome. Six finalists will be chosen from the pool of submissions to perform in front of the judges (yours truly, Jeff Miers of the Buffalo News, and promoter Marty Bortain) on April 25.

Now for the fun part:

The first place band will win five hours of studio time at GCR recording studio and a $70 gift certificate to Allentown Music.

Second Place will win screen printing services (for up to 15 one color basic t-shirts—$125 value) and a $50 gift certificate to Spiral Scratch Records.

Third Place will win a photo session with the one and only Nico, and a $50 gift certificate to Black Dots record store.
