On New Years Day, Fredonia-based musican Paul Sottnik released a new EP under the name The Everythingness. The EP, titled Music Box Mind, features three tracks of pop music with a focus on Sottnik’s observational lyrics and cheerful singing. Additional musical accompaniment is provided by drummer Trever Jennings and violinist Corland Mahoney. Stream the first single, “Blockbuster Video Man” on Bandcamp.

Buffalo-based journeyman musician antirockstars, released a bizarre animated music video earlier this month. The song is a slow burning alternative rock ballad featuring emotional vocals and dreary instrumentation. The video for the song features a love story between an androgynous young person and a green humanoid alien that ends with a heartbreaking twist.
