4th Annual Festivus Celebration
[HOLIDAY] There’s Chanukah, there’s Christmas, there’s Kwanzaa, and then there’s Festivus for the rest of us. Traditionally speaking, Buffalo’s best (and maybe first?) Festivus celebration happens each year at Hyrdaulic Hearth, presented by Community Beer Works, and the S. Thomas Group. What to expect for the 4th annual Festivus celebration this Saturday, December 23: an unadorned Festivus pole, the feats of strength, the airing of grievances, an Elaine dance-off, and some food and beer specialties including Papi’s homemade pizza (uhh, we’re guessing it will eschew the secret ingredient). If you haven’t signed up for the Seinfeld Trivia, it’s too late, but you can still join in on all of the other festivities, including a some funk from DJs Shane and Sike. Finally, a word from your Festivus host, Sean Heidinger: “Festivus is part of my heritage and who I am—as far back as I can remember, I recall digging out the Festivus pole from my father’s crawlspace,” says Heidinger. “This requires no decoration; we find tinsel distracting.” And of course, all proceeds will be dontated to the Human Fund.
