18 years ago Carol Messina was diagnosed with Leukemia. Just a few years later her husband Micahel died at the age of 42 after a massive heart attack. Against all odds, Carol has traversed these obstacles, raising four boys. After battling her disease for years, she was struck with more devestating news in June of 2014: her disease had progressed. To battle the disease’s progress, Carol had to undergo a bone marrow transplant. Her younger brother, Ken was found to be a perfect match and Carol underwent the procedure a few months ago. She spent time recovering at Roswell, and is now recovering at home. In support of Carol, her family and friends have put together a fundraising benefit to assist the Messina family with expenses incurred from Carol’s treatment and recovery. The event will feature a chinese auction, a 50/50 raffle, and door prizes. Raffle items include a $1000 gift card for a catered party for up to 50 people from Ashker’s Juice Bar, memrobilia signed by Jim Kelly and Fred Jackson of the Buffalo Bills, game worn Sabres jerseys, authentic Buffalo Bills jerseys, Bills and Sabres game tickets, original art from Buffalo artists like Max Collins, and much more.
