[JAZZ] Fourplay is a popular contemporary jazz act that could be considered a supergroup. Many music fans in general might know who keyboardist Bob James is—if only for his song “Take Me to the Mardi Gras” which has been sampled by everyone from Eric B. & Rakim to Run-D.M.C., and Freddie Gibbs. The rest of the band is filled out by bassist Nathan East, who has cowritten songs with the likes of Eric Clapton and Michael Jackson; guitarist Chuck Loeb, once a member of the legendary bossa nova star Stan Getz’s band; and drummer Harvey Mason, frequent collaborator of Herbie Hancock. Don’t miss Fourplay when they come to Buffalo State College’s Rockwell Hall Performing Arts Center on Thursday, March 30.
