[ELECTRONIC/DANCE] The dirtyBird crew out of San Francisco dominated the Red Bull Music Stage at this year’s Movement Festival in Detroit. Smack dab in between sets by dirtBird mainstays J.Phlip and Claude Vonstroke (Vonstroke performed with Green Velet as Get Real) Justin Martin, the label’s co-founder threw down a scorching set of throat-rattling bass tunes. His sophomore album, Hello Clouds, the follow up to his 2012 debut, Ghettos & Gardens was released in April to critical acclaim. There’s no doubt, however, that his strengths lie in his meticulously curated DJ sets, which are often chock full of classic tracks and unreleased material by himself and his dirtyBird label mates. Justin Martin comes to the rooftop at Sky Bar this Friday, June 24 as part of their stellar summer DJ series.
