Nietzsche's JazzFest

[JAZZ] On Wednesday, April 13, Nietzsche’s will launch their first ever JazzFest. The five-day-long festival, organized by promoter Ellen Pieroni, will feature nearly 30 bands including Pieroni’s own band, the Ellen Pieroni Quartet. Though jazz is the central focus, the groups will naturally approach the genre with a wide variety of styles. Performances will run at 8pm starting Wednesday, April 13 and run through Sunday, April 17. The shows on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be preceded by a free happy hour show beginning at 6pm. Each date will also provide a distinct style of jazz, from classic, to fusion, and tributes to particular artists. For instance, Thursday, April 14 is Herbie Night, a tribute to the legendary jazz pianist Herbie Hancock featuring Jon Lehning Quintet with Dave Schiavone, Adam Bronstein’s Freehand Band, Intrepid Travelers, Adam Bronstein’s Freehand Band, and the Ellen Pieroni Quartet. The five-day jazz festival will also feature performances by Family FUNKtion & The Sitar Jams, Slyboots School of Music and Dance, Toney Rhodes, Houston Gardwell Collective, The Fredtown Stompers, Grayo, Ann Phillipone,  Dr. Jazz, and many more.
