[INDIE] It’s hard to find find two more talented bands in the area than Jimkata and Lazlo Hollyfeld. Where Jimkata, a three-piece electronic pop band from Ithaca, drops rounded-out basslines and poppy vocal hooks—as demonstrated on their latest single, “Wild Ride”—Buffalo’s Lazlo Hollyfeld on the other hand aims for heady guitar-driven post-rock tunes. Where Jimkata might cite influences such as Yeasayer and LCD Soundsystem, Lazlo Hollyfeld is more likely to name bands like Radiohead. In fact, Lazlo Hollyfeld recently announced that they’ll perform Radiohead’s groundbreaking album In Rainbows in full at Buffalo Iron Works later this spring. Meanwhile, Jimkata has stayed focused on their latest release, In Motion, their second crowd-source funded full length record which was released in mid-February. The two bands will team up for a special show at Buffalo Iron Works on Saturday, March 26.
