[INDIE] “Local Boys Make Good with Disc of Seven New Tunes, Stage Massive Celebration at Sugar City.” Listening to Aircraft’s late winter single “Space Euphoria,” a cinematic vision comes to mind: a club scene in an episode of “Get Smart” where Don Adams is on some KAOS-related mission, fumbling through a crowd of chicks in short polyester dresses doing the Boogaloo. The vision attests to the authenticity of the band’s neo-psychedelic core, which also propels the less lounge-y, hyper-pop of the new single, “Dig a Little Deeper.” The disc, 7 Gems From the Sparkling Void, arrives at the end of this week on the Admirable Traits label, followed by the aforementioned Sugar City release party with Rochester’s Pleistocene and Sixties Future on Saturday at 7pm. $10 gets you in with a copy of the new release.
