Emulsified #3: Obedience

[FILM] Four films, four looks at the psychological bartering that forms the meta-structure of social interactions: What you are willing and not willing to do based on another’s desire. Curated by Buffalo ex-pat by way of Ankara, Turkey and Austin, Texas Ekrem Serdar, Obedience will host a provoking lineup from Jesse McLean’s Lose Yourself (5 min, digital 2011), Michael Robinson’s Hold Me Now (5 min, digital, 2008), Paul Sharits’s T,O,U,C,H,I,N,G (13 min, 16mm, 1968) and Stanley Milgram’s Obedience (45 min, 16mm, 1962)—from Milgram’s landmark study on the possible psychology of genocide.
