[TRIBUTE] Perhaps the most enduring and unyielding political spirit to come from the embers of 1970’s punk is that of the Clash, which will be celebrated two nights before Christmas with this lineup at the Waiting Room. Join the Rebel Waltz, Ghetto Defendants (from Austin), Doc Marten Soundsystem, the Card Cheats, Muppet Hi-Fi, Washington Bullets, and local troubadour Tyler Bagwell for an evening of Clash recreations mixed with picks from Joe Strummer’s after-Clash catalog. DJ Ruben will spin tunes between live band sets, and a portion of the proceeds will get donated to the Joe Strummer Foundation—designed to help artists promote social mobility through music.
