Three Bands to Know Before the Kerfuffle Before Christmas

Following their successful summer concert festival, Kerfuffle, 107.7 Alternative Buffalo is hosting a winter festival to match. On Thursday, December 18 Alt Buffalo will host the Kerfuffle Before Chrismas at the First Niagara Center featuring a few big names in indie rock. General admission floor tickets are already gone, but it’s not too late to grab some VIP tickets or $25 reserved seating tickets in the 100 and 200 levels. In anticipation, here are three bands to know before you get your Kerfuffle on this week:

Headliners Fitz & The Tantrums had a big year in 2013, with the release of their second album, More Than A Dream. Earlier this year they released their third single from the record, “Fools Gold,” a sprawling pop tune that channels The Killers as much as it does Hall & Oates.

Another stand out act on this bill is one that music fans in Buffalo might recognize from a few local appearances over the last couple of years: Neon Trees. The band from Provo, Utah mixes alternative rock with pop to create a danceable, retro-inspired mix. If you’ve turned on a radio over the last two years, you probably heard their song, “Everybody Talks,” but their latest, “Sleeping With A Friend” strips it back a bit with some sythesized power ballad stylings.

London soul music collective Jungle will make their Buffalo debut at Kerfuffle Before Christmas. Their latest single, “The Heat,” from their 2014 self title debut is a low key funk-inspired nu-disco tune that really shows off their soulful edge.
