[JAM] Phish bassist Mike Gordon refuses to sit still, having spent a large chunk of 2016 on the road. Following Phish’s summer shows and a Halloween run in Las Vegas that included Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust album in its entirety, Gordon is back out with his other band for some fall “solo” shows. He’s joined by Scott Murawski on guitar, Robert Walter on keys, drummer John Morgan Kimock, and percussionist Craig Myer, an ensemble he’s hoping will gel into a permanent lineup. These shows, which include a stop at Town Ballroom next Wednesday, November 23, will also feature the return of REEL. For the uninitiated, REEL is a crowd-surfing synth (sort of) that allows the audience to musically participate in the jam happening on stage. Come try your hand at jamming with Gordon and company the night before Thanksgiving. Maybe they’ll resurrect that cover of Garbage’s “#1 Crush” that they were doing earlier this year. So you’ll be tired and hung over in front of the fam—it’s certainly nothing they haven’t seen before.
