[SOUL] Get the crew together and practice that Soul Train line dance because Sugar City’s regular soul music dance party, Soul Night, returns to Milkie’s on Elmwood this Friday, November 10. Expect to hear some steaming, screaming soul tunes from DJs Handsome Dan, DJ Press, DJ Pat K, and—making a special seasonal appearance—Pumpkin Spice DJ. Rest assured, these folks have dug through more dusty, grimey record crates than they care to admit to find the all of the soul hits and deep cuts of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s—from Philadelphia soul, Memphis soul, Motown soul, to psychedelic soul, and deep soul. Expect to hear some classics from James Brown, Diana Ross, and the Jackson Five, and maybe some more obscure cuts from King Floyd, Lynn Colins, and Dyke and the Blazers. Soul Night is a a fundraiser for Sugar City, a volunteer-run DIY performance venue.
