[SOUL] Sugar City has you covered with all things soulful this Saturday night, November 5 at Milkies. The gallery is hosting another round of Soul Night to get your feet dancing and your body moving with electrifying sets by some of Buffalo’s funkiest DJ’s out there. Handsome Dan, The Revered Johnny Drama and special guests DJ GARBAGE MONSTER and DJ Nightbus will be spinning when the doors open at 10pm. In typical Buffalo fashion, the party won’t stop till 4am and, because Sugar City is just so sweet, even the youngsters are invited to try their stuff: the event is 18+. The gallery, located on Niagara Street, has a variety of events that they host at their location and around the city in order to promote community building through DIY art initiatives. Local poets, painters, sculptors, filmmakers and other sorts of do-it-yourselfers have collaborated with Sugar City to showcase their work or host a workshop in their field of expertise but even the most casual of amateur artists is invited to participate in any or all events hosted by the gallery. Sugar City works hard to create a safespace for all ages, identities and types of person out there and the events at their Niagara Street venue are all drug and alcohol free. But this one at Milkies definitely isn’t. Have a few drinks this Saturday (if you’re of legal age), put your dancing shoes on and remember to tip your bartender. $5 at the door.
