HRVST Festival featuring Phoenix and Manchester Orchestra

[INDIE] Originally scheduled to be one of the last big outdoor festivals of the year, HRVST Festival was moved to an indoor venue, Buffalo Riverworks, as of this week due to production complications. Which might mean that the weather is too unpredictable for this kind of thing. But that’s ok, because this line up is so impressive that it would a shame for it to be rained out. Headlining are French indie-pop band Phoenix, who will make an appearance in Western New York in support of their sixth studio album, Ti Amo. Inspired by Italian ice cream and built for lingerie commercials, Ti Amo continues the band’s streak of highly polished, critically acclaimed dance pop album successes. Most fans came to the band after the release of their 2009 breakthrough album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, which featured infectious hits like “Lisztomania” and “1901.” They’ll be joined by indie rock band Manchester Orchestra who earlier this summer released an epic, soaring album in A Black Mile to the Surface. The line up is rounded out by Brian Fallon (vocalist of The Gaslight Anthem who has released a pair of solo albums in recent years), regional breakout band Joywave, and more. Another notable feature of the festival is that it’ll feature 20 local craft beers, as opposed to the usual two or three choices at most festivals. HRVST Festival happens this Saturday, October 14 at Buffalo Riverworks.
