[METAL] It may be rainy this week, which gives you an excuse to wear a raincoat to GWAR’s usually bloodsoaked live concert at the Town Ballroom on Sunday, October 7. The satirical, over-the-top heavy metal band has a tendency of spraying their audiences with fake blood as they deliver searing guitar solos while dressed almost as real life action figures. Their late lead singer, David Brockie a.k.a. Oderus Urungus, unfortunately passed away in 2014, but the band has since brought in former bassist Michael Bishop a.k.a. Blothar as lead vocalist, who joins members with aliases like guitarist Balsac the Jaws Death, Jizmak Da Gusha, Sawborg Destructo, Beefcake the Mighty, Pustulus Maximus, Bone Snapper, and Sleazy P. Martini. Expect to hear classics along with cuts from their latest album, 2017’s The Blood of Gods, which features a cover of AC/DC’s “If You Want Blood (You Got It).” GWAR will be joined for this tour, dubbed the Gore Core Metal and More Tour by the popular metalcore band Hatebreed, as well as Miss May I and Ringworm.
