Joey's Shakedown Festival

[FESTIVAL] Buffalo Ironworks is hosting a benefit blowout this Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29 in the form of Joey’s Shakedown Festival, staged as a benefit for Evergreen Health Services of WNY. Seven bands will more than compensate for the $30 weekend pass price, including a headlining appearance from Snarky Puppy organist Cory Henry and his new project, the Funk Apostles. Toronto’s After Funk and Syracuse’s reggae-soul band ROOT Shock round out the groove-centric lineup on Friday. Saturday’s guests pepper in some rootsy Americana (Honey Island Swamp Band from New Orleans) along with the admirable saxophone talent of young Vanessa Collier, among others. Admission for either Friday or Saturday can also be purchased separately ($15 and $20, respectively, and Saturday’s cost includes a meal ticket, as does the weekend pass). Doors are at 8pm on Friday and 6pm on Saturday.
