Grabbitz

[ELECTRONIC/DANCE] Electronic music producer Grabbitz became known to many around Buffalo after producing rapper Chae Hawk’s album Dance Party For The Heavy Hearted. The album features extremely slick dubstep and bass music productions melded with Hawk’s energetic lyricism and recognizable style. Since then, Grabbitz toured the country as a bass music DJ, quickly rising on the EDM scene—in 2016 he collaborated with deadmau5, lending vocals to his song “Let Go,” which ended up on Deadmau5’s full length album W:/2016ALBUM/. But since peaking in the EDM world, he’s recently revamped his live show in a big way. On his latest tour, dubbed “The Grabbitz Show,” the young musician, real name Nick Chiari, performs as a vocalist with a live band, delivering a set that’s more akin to James Blake than Deadmau5. A few videos on Youtube show the musician playing an acoustic guitar with a backing band which includes a bongo player, so fans, be aware that this is a pretty drastic turn. But Chiari has the vocal chops to make it work, so expect an impressive show nonetheless; just leave all of your other expectations behind. Grabbitz brings The Grabbitz Show to the Waiting Room on Friday, July 28 with support from Dabin, Eyes Everywhere, and Dusty Bits.
