[TRIBUTE] There are many, many Floyd tribute and cover bands, but only a few have risen to the top. In this case, Brit Floyd is an offshoot of The Australian Pink Floyd Show, started by Damian Darlington in 2011 after touring with the Aussie show for 17 years. Why? Well, Darlington feels that Brit Floyd is a step up. He says the show is more detail oriented and overall, a more nuanced production, visuals included. Since branching off seven years ago, he’s lured over some other members from the Australian revue, and they’ve even been joined onstage by Floyd’s former sometimes sax-man Scott Page. Darlington seems committed to recreating the Floyd experience right down to the fine print. See if you agree when Brit Floyd brings its Eclipse World Tour to Artpark on Tuesday, July 31.
