Silo City Reading Series
[LIT] The Silo City Reading series continues this Friday, July 17, with a slew of artistically diverse performers. Award-winning poet Zach Savich recently called Silo City “one of the three best poetry reading locations in America.” Last month the series welcomed poets Zachary Shomburg and Alana Kelley. This month they’ll welcome poet Catherine Wagner, a professor of creative writing at Miami University, known for her intimate works such as Nervous Device and the witty My New Job. She will read alongside poet Lillian-Yvonne Bertram, whose published works include the cosmic But a Storm Is Blowing From Paradise. Sound and video art duo Flatsitter will present their avant-garde multimedia project, entitled Dry Bones, while artist Max Collins displays his latest sculptural artworks. Toronto-based dance collective Open Fortress and gospel singer Zoe Scruggs will also perform. The series will close out next month with poetry by Bianca Stone and Emily Anderson.
