[ROCK] You may never have been much of a fan of Oasis. Most Americans weren’t, despite the British band’s massive popularity around the rest of the world. But don’t let that keep you from seeing Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, the band put together by former Oasis lead guitarist/songwriter/pugnacious sibling Noel Gallagher. Mining the best of classic rock history, Gallagher combines the muscularity of Sticky Fingers era Stones with Pink Floyd-trance with the skill of a craftsman who builds on his influences rather than imitating them. And if you were an Oasis fan, their catalogue is amply represented as well. Opening the show is the British electronic rock band The Big Pink. The show—the first one in Gallagher’s current tour that hasn’t been sold out—is at Artpark on Wednesday, July 6.
