[INDIE] Laney Jones and her three man band will appear at 189 Public House on Wednesday, June 22 to perform her self titled album that was released in March. The 24 year old singer songwriter has won several competitions, including the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and has performed alongside Alison Krauss since her collegiate musical debut at the Berklee College of Music. Her current album deals with themes of self-discovery, growing up and the struggle of finding a personal identity while trying to cultivate a specific stage presence. Focused and determined to “follow her mind’s eye,” Jones has been described as a “firecracker on stage” as she performs her folksy rock songs that were influenced by the like of Bob Dylan and Dr Dog. The unsigned artist can be heard on the soundtracks of Disney and Pixar films and her music is rotated on more than 50 CMJ indie radio stations.
