[THEATER] Silo City will host the traveling performance group The Wastelands during their three day stay in Buffalo. The group is a project of the Minnesota based Children of the Wild traveling cinematic and theatrical ensemble and uses visuals, music and kinesthetic poetry to produce an “experimental folk opera” that is loosely based on Dante’s Purgatorio. Following the story of an American afterlife, the group aims to expose ties between environmental, ecological and cultural grief caused by industrial expanse and violent political unraveling by traveling throughout the Great Lakes Area. After the show, Children of the Wild hopes to facilitate a conversation with community organizers about environmental and social justice. The event will be held on Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18 at 7pm and Sunday, June 19 at 3pm. This event is free and open to the public.
