[RAP] Horrorcore rapper Tech N9ne has officially achieved prolific status. Since his 1999 debut album, Calm Before the Storm, the Kansas City-based rapper has released 14 additional studio albums—many of which include collaborations with friends like Three 6 Mafia and Eminem. The storm that Tech N9ne refers to isn’t necessarily the storm of music he’s released in his lengthy career, but the storm that torments his mind. “[I’ve seen] so many dark things. I had to take those experiences and make something beautiful out of them,” said Tech N9ne, real name Aaron Yates, about his critically acclaimed 2009 album K.O.D. (short for “King of Darkness”). Though his soul is shadowy, the moody rapper believes that by revealing a piece of his dark side, he can help his fans who are searching for a way to deal with their own issues to find their way. Tech N9ne comes to the Town Ballroom on Thursday, May 21, with support from Chris Webby, Krizz Kaliko, Murs, Zuse, King 810, and Kamp Crystal Lake.
