[ELECTRONIC/DANCE] What has become one of the area’s more consistent underground parties, Strange Allure continues with their third edition on Saturday, May 14 at an undisclosed location. This time through they’ll welcome New York City-by-way-of-Chicago techno-lord Patricia—known for releases on labels including L.I.E.S., Opal Tapes, Ghostly Intl. and collaborations with Jahiliyya Fields, Terekke, and more. As shadowy as techno producers come, Patricia has made a habit out of releasing tape-damaged, basement-ready club bangers, specifically on records like 2013’s Body Issues—released on the UK-based label Opal Tapes—and more recently, 2015’s Bem Inventory. In a review of Bem Inventory, electronic music magazine Resident Advisor noted the techno producer’s love for analogue gear and performing live. Patricia will be joined by Opal Tapes rostermate Prostitutes, who’ll come in from Cleveland, along with ambient music artist Echelons, as well as DJ Obsidian Direct.
